Fire, like many instruments of nature, is a misunderstood concept.
In the cold and savage time, during the dawn of races, fire stood as the ultimate symbol of power. Those who had fire ruled, and those who wanted it followed. Those who learned it's secrets were viewed like Gods.
Little did the children of All That Is know, where once great fields and rivers stood, now only a wasteland of sand and stone exists. Fire was the hammer that forged the very structure of their world. The birth of Kogane, the Allcaster, was accompanied by towering inferno of blue fire that stretched from ocean to ocean. Some land flourished, mended by the sacred blood of the other Ancient Gods, but that which did not, stands as a symbol of the flames true power. To wash clean. To carve and sculpt. To purify.
Some say the fire came from a giant golden egg, from which Kogane was born. Others say when he descended from the heavens as a dragon, his body was twisted and destroyed by his own flame, into that of a man. Others swear that he was once a holy man, walking the world lost and cold, until he came across the ancient draconic spirits of fire, on its death bed. In a final act of divine grace it breathed it's last breath into him, making him the new child of flame, and keeper of the dragons secrets.
None of these are true to the actual events that transpired during the dawn of All That Is, but they all hold a candle of truth. Each one lights the tapestry of history with a different glowing source, and only when one can see the whole picture by more than one light, can one truly understand the will of the Gods.
